I've got a camper shell on the back of my truck so I think for now I'll just keep my house and travel for few weeks at a time throughout the year. The mountains are calling!

Great advice as usual. I have a RV, but I also motorcycle cross country sometimes. It’s not nearly as must fun when you’re going solo. And you worry about all your gear when you have to walk away. It’s open to looters!

Things have come a long way in 150 years. Back in the day a solo nomad's gear may have consisted of a horse, saddle bags, a bed roll and perhaps a means of protection. An RV wagon with a team of horses and a dog could have made it even more hard and mechanical.

Does this mean we're going to be seeing more of you??? Really miss those videos...

I have been traveling solo in my motorhome for going on five years male and Retired and one of the best things I can say about safety is staying the heck out of cities. Stay aware of your surroundings and just enjoy your life. I also also don’t travel with any pets.

I learned as a woman to travel looking like a mess because men at the truck stops will leave you alone. 😂😂😂

We learned that it was really difficult getting our RV serviced as we had to let strangers in our 'house'. One time we went for an oil change and were stuck there for EIGHT HOURS... whole time worried what the workers might be doing.

It always looked like a lot lot of work to me. I think I'm too lazy for that lifestyle.

For me, it's great to get out in my van conversion and seek sights and solitude for a month or two. But having a home base to come back to gives it perspective, and having the option of going home is a blessing.

Absolutely, your life revolves around the pups! Spent 6 years on the road with two hounds. They were a major part of how I planned out the lifestyle, and even which types of RVs I purchased.

It's good to see that smiling face back! Hoping we see more!

I think you've raised some really good points in the previous two videos so I would concur as a previous full-time van lifer. It can be very expensive because it's hard to budget as your costs aren't fixed and you do need to do ad hoc repairs and adjustments. Also it's a very solitary way of life and if your health isn't very good you still have to do your what I used to call vanmin which is admin for the van such as toilet emptying and water and bins etc. I had the same sort of anxiety when I left the van even just to go to the shops for a short while. I have an animal now which I don't think would adjust well to that kind of life either. You're also extremely limited as to what you can take. In the UK as well you have to know what the bylaws are in any given area with regards to wild camping. But even if you just go and visit someone in a rural area I found that people were hostile thinking I was staying overnight or just not liking such a big vehicle parked nearby. I visited a village near the sea and I only been there with a friend who had his camper for a short time and someone came out complaining we were parked there even though the guy wasn't staying overnight saying that they paid a lot for the view and so on. We weren't doing anything wrong and we weren't staying either it was just uncomfortable. You also have to factor in what you're going to do when it ends and also if you need to change your vehicle if you're doing it long-term. There's a lot to it. In this country as well you need to be a dab hand at repairs because a lot of places won't help I travelled hundreds of miles for that but I know that you were very good at your repairs 😊 One of the biggest things though which I thought would be a blessing was that living in such a small space was actually really bad for my mental health. I know there are bigger and different types of rigs than what I was living in but I recently moved into a bit of a bigger house and I realise the difference really is huge. I thought it was interesting what you said about the tick-off list as well. You are a very astute lady and have really missed tuning into your channel. I do hope that you will continue in some format and good to know that you're now running your own business as well ❤

Curious if you are still in touch w/Gene? Loved most your videos while traveling together, but completely understand the fragility of relationships, let alone those that are somewhat predicated on a nomadic lifestyle. Been there, done that.

I feel you are very courageous , and be careful, never gas up at night, only daytime and with well know stations. Beware anyone especially a man asking you if your alone. Never give out that information. Stay at campgrounds and get to know the campground host when possible especially if a couple running it. Call home and give your location when possible. and many more ideas talking to other solo campers.
